What you’ll learn
By the end of the Basic program, you’ll be able to:
- Assess hair and skin — choose the correct treatment method for each client
- Identify contraindications — recognise when treatment is unsafe or not possible
- Conduct a professional consultation — informed consent, intake, expectation-setting
- Prepare the skin for treatment safely
- Deliver post-treatment care instructions — verbal and written
- Set up a treatment room — machines, needles, lighting, sanitation, regulatory compliance
- Perform thermolysis on any body area, any skin type
- Perform the blend method on any body area, any skin type

- Hair biology and the hair growth cycle (anagen, catagen, telogen)
- Skin anatomy, Fitzpatrick skin typing (I–VI), and treatment implications
- Electricity fundamentals — voltage, amperage, resistance, frequency
- The three electrolysis modalities — galvanic, thermolysis, and the blend
- Probes — types, sizing, modality compatibility, current density
- Core technique — insertion, stretching, working point, two-handed coordination
- Specific treatment areas — upper lip, chin, eyebrow, ingrown hairs, all body areas
- Client consultation, informed consent, and documentation
- Pre-treatment preparation and post-treatment care
- Room setup, equipment, infection control (Saskatchewan PSF compliance)
- Saskatchewan regulatory framework (course is authored in SK; non-SK students verify local requirements)
- Pain management basics and treatment scheduling

Visual Aid: Options include:
